Shadowlands - Jan 26 - Feb 19, 2012
The life of famous British author and scholar, C. S. Lewis is the basis for William NIcholson’s inspiring play of love, family, & faith. As his carefully guarded academic world is challenged by his friendship with the outspoken American poet, Joy Gresham, Lewis, a committed bachelor, Christian, and Oxford professor finds himself relearning the true meaning of life. In Shadowlands, their unlikely romance raises elemental questions about God and love, life and death, happiness and the meaning of family.
Current Production:
Crimes of the Heart - March 15 - April 7, 2012
Three eccentric sisters, a husband who’s been shot, and a lawyer with a vendetta: the recipe for a 30th birthday gone perfectly wrong! Family cruelty has never been more fun than in Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern Gothic screw-ball comedy. Good humor and laughs abound in the McGrath home, even as this Hazlehurst, Mississippi family faces a veritable heap of misfortune. Touching, tragic, and daffy, Crimes of the Heart is a darkly comic family feud of epic proportions!
ART - May 3 - May 27, 2012
What is art?
Yasmina Reza explores this question as well as the true nature of friendship in her Tony Award-winning play, ART. After paying a quarter of a million dollars for a painting, Serge finds himself defending the value of his masterpiece to his best friends. In this blisteringly funny play, the 3 close friends come to realize that even thought they have known each other for over 15 years their differences don’t stop with artistic opinion. A comedy about the way men think and relate to each other, ART is a hilarious and insightful close to a jewel of a season!
