Written by celebrated Texas theater playwrights Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, "The Fantasticks" has run for more than 40 years in New York, garnering countless awards and the World Record for Longest Running Musical.
Associate Artistic Director Steven Fenley said the musical is an American theater treasure patrons of any age can enjoy.
"The Fantasticks...is both nostalgic and universal," Fenley said. "A timeless fable of love perfect for the entire family."
Fenley said the production, re-conceived and directed by the Texas Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Craig Miller, has received much attention by both critics and theater patron alike, and for good reason.
"It's sparkling musical score is complemented perfectly by a touching and meaningful story about what it means to love and be loves," Fenley said.
