The Texas Repertory Theatre Co., Houston ’s Uptown Classic Theatre, is seeking a year round part to full time technical director beginning in Fall 2010. 

Director of Theatre Operations (DTO):  Responsible for the daily technical and production management of the theatre. This position combines the duties of production management and technical direction.

Responsibilities include: production planning, scheduling, budgeting, and expense control for all productions plus technical direction duties including set design, set construction, and other technical aspects of production including lights, sound, etc.   The position requires a well-organized technical director with strong project planning and budgeting skills. The DTO will work with the artistic staff to plan the theatre season and establish the budget for each production. The DTO will be responsible for coordinating and managing outside contractors as needed for set design, construction, lighting, and sound.  

Requirements: 

Requirements include BA or MFA in theater. At least five years experience in theatre production including technical direction, set design & construction, and project management as well as strong project management skills and expense control.
