Opening the season was the longest-running musical in history, The Fantasticks, followed by yet another Pulitzer Prize-winner, the taut and gripping psychological drama Proof. The Texas Rep produced its first Christmas show, the holiday favorite A Christmas Story, adapted for the stage by author Phillip Grecian. The hilarious comedy The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) provided side-splitting laughter as the immortal bard was put through the comedy meat-grinder, and Tennessee William's beautiful classic The Glass Menagerie was tenderly rendered by the actor's and artists of The Texas Repertory Theatre's company. Closing out the second season was the ribald and ridiculous A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

The first in what is sure to be a long tradition of hit summer musicals, The Texas Repertory Theatre Co. brought nostalgic melodies to the stage in Always, Patsy Cline.
